教学对象：小学五年级学生
教学内容：
l 句型：When is your birthday? My birthday is May 18th.
l 词汇：
1、12个月份的表达方法
2、1-31序数词的表达方法
教材分析：
1、句型比较简单
2、词汇量相对比较大，但是，这些单词重在认读而不是识记。
教学过程
1、宣布上课
Good morning/afternoon, class.
Sit down, please.
Boys and girls, I’m very happy to come here. Today I’m your new English teacher. Do you know my name? Do you want to know something about me? Ask me. (If no questions, present numbers indrectly.)
2、提问：How many students are there in our class? Count at first, then write down the numbers on the blackboard so that the teacher can use it later when teaching ordinal numbers.
3、Play a game ---- 扮演魔术师。准备好两副扑克。一幅按顺序叠好，放在裤子口袋里，另一幅拿出来给学生看。当着学生的面把这幅牌洗散，然后，将它放回到裤子口袋。念念有词， 撒上魔法金粉，然后，把叠好顺序的牌拿出来。拿一张说出这张牌的号码。如：The first one is a King. The second one is a Queen. The third one is a Jack. The fourth one is a 10. …etc. 通过这种办法，呈现序数词。在此过程中，注意：用彩色粉笔在原来基数词的后面加上序数词的符号st, nd, rd, th, etc （学生估计会看出破绽，如果如此，照样完成。同时，特别注意fifth, fifteenth，twenty-first, twenty-second, etc 的读音。）.
4、带领全班同学朗读这些基数词，并尝试让学生自己说明基数词的构成规律。
5、通过玩游戏，教学月份单词，达到认读的目的。此环节让读音、字型和意义脱节。重点放在认读的能力培养。

4、 操练巩固
l 全面朗读12个月和序数词的读音
l 出示台历，讲练具体日期的表达方法What’ s the date today? Is it January? Is it July? Is it November? Yes, Is today November the first? No, Is today November the second? What’s the date today? 启发学生说出来：It’s November the 3rd. 在此期间，特别注意示范和说明日期的表达方法。the 要说出来，但不用写出来，同时注意序数词的用法。（不要忘记：板书 What’s the date today? It’s ______. ）
l 给出一些日期让学生操练（将这些日期写在卡片纸上。正面写中文，反面写英语。）
l Let’s chant.

这一环节可以拿出刚才使用的日期卡片让孩子们继续延续chant
* 仿造老师的内容，让学生自己编一段Chant，并表演
5、 拓展提高
l 画手----Draw hands and write down five dates the students like best.
l After that, let them talk about the five dates and tell us why they like them best.
准备材料：
1、 台历
2、 《活动手册》P24印给学生
3、 扑克牌两幅
4、 月份单词的卡片---贴好双面胶---最好先贴上透明胶，再上双面胶。
5、 准备一些日期的卡片，让孩子们在操练的过程中使用。（正面写中文，反面写英语）

第二课时
11月3日上午
教学内容：
句型：
When’s your birthday? It’s March, 4th.
It’s a birthday party.
学生已经学过月份、序数词等内容。
教学过程：
1、 宣布上课。Class begins. Good morning, class. Sit down, please. Boys and girls, are you tired? Well, Let’s sing a song together. All right? If you’re happy.
2、 复习
l 看黑板上的板书内容，边读边擦掉所有序数词。
l 看黑板上的板书内容，边读边取下所有的月份单词卡片。
l 拿着取下来的月份单词卡片，每三张卡片为一个季节，组织游戏What is missing? 通过游戏进一步复习巩固所学词汇。可以提及四季spring, summer, fall and winter.这一环节进行的时候，一定要注意问问孩子们怎样拼写这些单词。要求四会掌握。
l 听力活动
让学生听三到四段听力材料，判断具体日期。其中最后一段的听力材料是与学生自己的生日有关。特别注意：这一过程中要特别注意birthday, party等单词的引入，为第二节课做好准备。
